中国の犬肉祭りを阻止するために活動をされています団体様のペーターリー様に当会のKさんが質問した事の返信が来ました。情報を集めることが一番大切なため参考にしながらまた対応を検討していきます。今の時点では現地にボランティアで行くこと、楊さん保護犬猫を引き取り里親様を見つける事も移動が難しいため出来ません。そこでフード、支援金を確実にお送りすることをしていきます。また「動物保護法」制定も要望してまいります。

We are a Non-profit group of animal rescue in Japan.
We were told to contact you by Ms. Sakiko Yamazaki one of your team in Japan about Yulin dog meat festival.

We'd like to ask you about the horror festival to stop.
Acctualy, I've contacted Rowan, your CEO few days ago.
Please accept sending a message to you this time.

1. What was the response from the Chinese embassy in U.S.A., Canada and England you sent a letter last year? I don't think they responded. But, our message was apparently sent back to Beijing.

2. Do you know Ms. Xiaoyun Yang? She saved many dogs and cats.
Do you help her? We are trying to send her aid supplies and donate.
We already talked to her on the phone to tell our support. Yes, I know her very well. Good you are helping her. It is important to ask her to improve her shelter management and to encourage her to hire more workers in her shelter with your donation. HSI has helped her and I myself personally helped her before.

3. Have any other host countlies recived any rescued dogs from China? Unlike Korea, China has a strong animal protection community. Rescued dogs can be accommodated in China.

4. There are many rabid dogs in the city. Do they eat kind of the dogs, too? If so, is that a common custom? Rabid dogs in urban China are very rare. Yulin slaughters any dogs, pet dogs, rural guard dogs and sick and dying dogs and rabit dogs too. Dog eating is NOT common in China. Only very small number of older men are the die-hard dog eaters.
I don't think they recognize it.

5. Can we submit a note of protest for assistance to the Yulin Mayer?
Do you know the address?

Send the protest letter to: Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong and ask it to forward the letter to Party Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Peng Qinghua. Tell Mr. Peng how much damage the Yulin officials' failure to stop sick dogs and stolen dogs from being slaughtered in Yulin. You can google the Liaison Office address in Hong Kong.
Acctualy, we've sent some request letters to Japanese prime minister, Japanese TV media and we are going to send the same letter with happy dogs picking to Chinese embassy in Japan.

Japanese government would not want to anger Beijing. I would suggest sending your letter to Hong Kong (see above).

6. Finally, please let us know how to stop the festival in any ways.

One way is to support Chinese young activists who are doing highway interceptions of dog trucks. These courageous young Chinese are making life miserable for the dog meat traders. While some people go to Yulin to buy dogs from the dog meat traders, the young people are undermining the dog meat industry in a more strategic and profound way. I would recommend supporting the young activists.

Your many articles in HSI made us shocked and impact but very helpful to remind us.

We must stop the cruel envent.

One question for you: In China, there are many young men in the animal protection groups. Men represent at least 35% of China's animal activists. What is the percentage of males/men in Japan's animal protection movement? How many men in your group? What is the percentage of men in your group?


1. 昨年アメリカ、イギリス、カナダの中国大使館に手紙を送ったそうですが返事はありましたか？
A. ありません。どうやら北京に返送されたようです。

2. 楊さんをご存知ですか？　私達は楊さんと連絡取れて、支援物資を送るつもりです。
A. とてもよく知ってます。HSIも援助してますし、Peterさん自身もお手伝いされたそうです。シェルターの改善および運営していくために、現地で一緒に働いてくれる人を集めて欲しいそうです。

3. 保護した犬達は他の国で受入れされてますか？
A. 中国や韓国には強い動物保護団体がありません。中国国内で収容(保護)されてます。

4. 狂犬病にかかった犬も日常的に食しますか？
A. 都会の地域ではあまり狂犬病はいません。しかし玉林市ではペットの犬、病気の犬、瀕死状態の犬、狂犬病などの犬と何でも構わず畜殺します。
中国の犬肉食は決して日常的ではありませんし、少数の年配男性達の行為です。と強調されてます。

5. 私達は総理官邸に要請書を送りました。玉林市長にも要請書を送りたいので住所を教えて下さい。
A. 先ず香港政府がある Liaisonオフィス に送って、中国広西自治区の秘書のMr. Peng Qinghuaに転送してほしいと伝える事を勧めます。 Liaisonオフィスはネットで検索出来ます。
日本の政府は中国を怒らせたくないので、きっと何もしないでしょうね。と。

6. 何かアドバイス下さい。
A. 中国で活動している勇気ある若者たちを助けて下さい。彼らは高速道路上でトラックに載せられた犬達を阻止する為に奪い返そうとしてます。そして犬肉産業者を攻撃してます。そんな彼らをサポートしてほしい。

最後に私達に質問されてます。
中国では動物保護活動している男性が35%位います。
日本はどれ位いますか？男女の比率はどれ位ですか？
また私達の団体に男性は何人位いますか？
